"'Give thanks to the Lord' was written over a span of eight years. The verses came from a song I wrote in high school. The 'give thanks to the Lord' part that the choir sings came during a church service when Pastor Parker read that verse from the Psalms. I was playing the organ while he read and the chords just came out with the melody in my head. The chorus is simply the gospel message that Emily & I want to go out to all nations, that Jesus came to give His followers abundant life and rest for their weary souls.
